1995 UNIDROIT Convention on Stolen or Illegally Exported Cultural Objects

This Convention deals with the restitution of stolen cultural objects and the return of objects which have been illegally removed.  It states that those who are in possession of illegally acquired objects must return them, and suggests that if the object was acquired in good faith and suitable checks were carried out, compensation may be given to the possessor.
